About Me

Hi, I’m JoLynn!

First, I am a follower of Christ Jesus, and everything I do flows from that place.

Long before any title or credential, my life has been shaped by learning what it truly means to abide in Christ—not just in knowledge, but in surrender, stillness, and choosing to remain in His truth even when thoughts, emotions, or circumstances tried to pull me away.

Through those seasons, God began revealing something deeper: how often we live burdened by lies we didn’t even realize we were believing- lies about identity, worth, and even about who He is.

And gently, faithfully, He began leading me into freedom.

Not all at once, but through abiding.

Through learning to dwell in His presence, taking every thought captive, and replacing the lies with truth rooted in His Word.

That journey is what led to A Time to Abide.

My heart is to walk alongside others as they grow in intimacy with Jesus, learn to recognize the voice of truth, and step into the freedom and identity they already have in Him.

A Little More About Me

I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Texas, currently under supervision as I continue working toward my clinical licensure (LCSW).

While that background has shaped how I understand people and walk alongside others, this space is different.

A Time to Abide is a faith-based ministry—rooted in prayer, Scripture, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

It is a space for those who desire to go deeper with God, renew their minds, and live anchored in truth.

A Gentle Note

Although I am licensed in Texas and currently under supervision, the support offered through this ministry is not therapy or clinical counseling.

This space is devoted to spiritual mentoring and biblical encouragement. It does not include mental health diagnosis, treatment, or clinical services.

If you are in need of mental health support, I encourage you to connect with a licensed professional who can walk with you in that capacity.

A Testimony of Freedom

There is power in what God restores and there is POWER in our testimony.

I have walked through seasons marked by deep struggle—battling depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and patterns that once kept me bound. I know what it feels like to believe lies about your identity and to search for freedom in places that never truly satisfy.

I have also walked through seasons of deep pain, confusion, and spiritual disorientation—moments that required me to relearn what it means to hear God’s voice and stand on His truth.

But God, in His mercy, met me there.

Through coming to truly know my identity in Christ and learning to abide in Him, everything began to shift. Not overnight, but faithfully—He brought healing, freedom, and restoration. He replaced lies with truth, shame with identity, and striving with peace.

That journey is what allows me to walk with others today—with compassion, understanding, and hope.

My heart is to offer a space where you are met with the love of Christ, grounded in truth, and gently reminded that freedom is possible—and already found in Him.

If you’re here, it’s not by accident.

There is an invitation to draw near, to abide, and to experience the kind of peace and freedom that only comes from remaining in Him.

You are welcome here. 🤍
